Students from the University of New England will have an opportunity to meet prospective employers at the EBL (?Economics, Business and Law?) Ball in Armidale on Friday 7 September.

Four student societies at the University have collaborated in organising the ball, and at least 35 representatives of business organisations employing graduates in economics, business and law will be among those attending. They will contribute to a ?careers panel? that will help students to explore graduate employment opportunities.

The EBL Ball will be at the Armidale Bowling Club, starting at 5.30 pm for networking, and with the main course to be served at 7 pm.

?At a regional university students often find it hard to attend careers events, and so miss out on vital opportunities to meet business executives and past graduates who could inform them about graduate programs,? said William Rouse-Upjohn, President of the UNE Economics Society. ?Our four societies ? Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), the UNE Law Society, the Drummond and Smith Law Society, and the UNE Economics Society ? have organised the ball to give students such an opportunity. It?s all about networking ? and reassuring students that careers are available.?

?It?s also a valuable opportunity for representatives of local businesses to find out about the strengths of UNE students about to graduate,? he said.

Sponsors of the ball include the UNE Business School, UNE?s School of Law, the Armidale & District Business Enterprise Centre, Roberts & Morrow, Services UNE, and the UNE radio station TUNE! FM.

Tickets, costing $35 for students and $65 for others, are available (until Wednesday) from Armidale Bowling Club and Campus Essentials. For more information see ?EBL Ball 2012? on Facebook, e-mail eblball@une.edu.au, or phone either (02) 6773 2386 or 0401 341 102.
